Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment for 2027 benefits is November 2–15, 2026.
This is your annual opportunity to enroll in or make changes to these benefits:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance

- Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
- Life insurance
- Disability
- Supplemental accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance
- Accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance

If you don’t do anything during Open Enrollment, your current benefits will continue in 2027 except FSAs – if you want an FSA in 2027, you must actively enroll during Open Enrollment.

What’s new and changing in 2027
Our benefits are an important part of your overall compensation, supporting your health, financial well-being, and life outside of work. At the SF SPCA, maintaining a diverse, meaningful benefits package remains a priority, and we’re pleased to share what’s changing for 2027.
Kaiser vision coverage
The optical allowance through the Kaiser HMO plan is being replaced with the enhanced vision benefit through Guardian. If you’re enrolled in the Kaiser HMO, you’ll need to enroll in Guardian Vision to have vision coverage. Guardian includes a $200 frame allowance every 24 months.
HDHP deductibles
The annual deductible for an individual covered under the Kaiser or Sutter High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) will increase from $3,400 to $3,500. This change is required under IRS guidelines.
Ready to enroll?
Before you enroll, see what’s new and changing for the next plan year. There may be changes that are important to you.
You have until 11:59 p.m. on November 15th to enroll or make changes. As a reminder, if you do nothing by the deadline, all your current benefits except FSAs and Kaiser Vision will continue in 2027.
