Paid Time Off Policies

There is no perfect, one-size-fits-all balance between work and home. We provide time off so you can take time to relax, recover from illness, take care of personal and family business, or whatever else you need.

Eligibility: Only regular, full time team members are eligible for observed and floating holidays. Part-time, temporary, on-call, and seasonal team members and team members on a leave of absence are not eligible for paid holidays. If you become ineligible due to an employment category change, your Floating
Holidays will be paid out at the time of the change.

Holidays, both observed and floating, for team members on alternative workweek schedules are 10 hours per day. All holidays for team members on a regular workweek schedule are 8 hours per day. Floating holidays are paid at the team member’s base rate, must be taken in full day increments, and may not be donated.

The San Francisco SPCA provides 7 paid holidays this year along with 4 floating holidays for regular, full-time team members. The 2026 holiday schedule is:
